Bridgerton – Season 2 – One of Us

One of Us studio was the primary VFX vendor for Shondaland’s Netflix series, Bridgerton Series 2. The second season of Bridgerton, focuses on how Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) sets about selecting the best woman in town. One of Us, worked through pre-production, on-set and post production. The 250 VFX shots include complex creature work, alongside the familiar extravagant environments.

Ultraman – Season 2 – Trailer

A global mass disappearing event takes place among humanity. Rena and Shinjiro simultaneously vanish.

In the wake of these events, freelance journalist Kotaro Higashi investigates this mysterious “disappearance incident.”

The aliens behind it are the terrorist organisation Dark Star. They transmit a message to those on Earth. “Give us half of the Earth, or sacrifice half of its people… make your choice”.

At the same time, the recently disappeared Rena and Shinjiro are teleported to the Dark Star ship orbiting the Earth.

Learning too much, Kotaro is caught in the crossfire between Dark Star and the SSSP, and is almost left for dead…. In the final battle, our heroes face off against the Golden Fortress.

Hard Cell – Trailer

Hard Cell is a documentary style comedy set in the fictional female prison, HMP Woldsley. Writer and creator Catherine Tate plays multiple characters from Laura Willis, the Governor who believes creativity leads to rehabilitation, to Big Viv, the psychopath lifer. Set over a 6 week period during which the inmates rehearse a musical directed by ex-Eastender’s star Cheryl Fergison. Rehearsals draw together an oddball collection of women as they find their voices, grow in confidence and strengthen their friendships. Funny yet surprisingly moving, Hard Cell leans into the comical truth of prison life.

The Adam Project – Netflix

The Adam Project’s Zoe Saldaña (Laura) is joined by director Shawn Levy and VFX Supervisor Alessandro Ongaro to break down the best action scenes in the film. The Witcher – Season 2 – Basilisk – Cinesite

The three terrifying Basilisks which feature in the final episode of The Witcher’s second season, are some of the deadliest creatures our hero has ever encountered. Developing the look of them was a year-long journey for Cinesite’s team.

Despite being assembled from a range of creatures’ anatomy, the Basilisks needed to look and move cohesively, with the animators carefully integrating them with the stunning on set fight choreography. Midnight Mass – Season 1 – Rise

RISE VFX supervisor Benjamin Burr and his team are no strangers to the Steven King Universe. In 2019 he and his team helped recreate the environments from The Shining for Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep. Last year Mike directed a Netflix mini-series called Midnight Mass in which the inhabitants of an island feel rejuvenated after going to church – but RISE helped them feel the burn when exposed to daylight.

The Silent Sea – A valiant mission for humanity’s survival

How Netflix’s ‘Klaus’ Made 2D Animation Look 3D

“Klaus,” Netflix’s first animated film, is an origin story of Santa Claus. Because the Oscar-nominated movie appeals to nostalgia, director Sergio Pablos and his team at The SPA Studios in Madrid decided to make the film in 2D. But they also wanted to advance the look, so they developed new technology that adds details like lighting and texture to the characters that make them appear 3D. We spoke with Pablos to find out how they made the innovative film, which earned an Academy Award nomination for best Animated Feature and seven Annie Awards. “Klaus” stars Jason Schwartzman, J.K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, Will Sasso, Norm MacDonald, and Joan Cusack.
