Wednesday – MPC

Brought to us by MGM Television and Netflix, we experienced mayhem, mystery and murder in Tim Burton’s Wednesday. With the help of our MPC team’s eerily “Frankenstein-esque” VFX, this supernaturally-infused series spotlights the sleuthing daughter from the iconic Addams family.

SYNOPSIS: We are in 50 BC. The Empress of China is imprisoned following a coup d’état fomented by Deng Tsin Quin, a felonious prince. With the help of Graindemais, the Phoenician merchant, and her faithful warrior Tat Han, Princess Fu-Yi, the empress’s only daughter, flees to Gaul to ask for help from the two valiant warriors Asterix and Obelix, who have superhuman strength thanks to their magic potion. Our two inseparable Gauls agree to help the Princess to save her mother and free her country. And here they are, all on their way to a great adventure to China. But Caesar and his powerful army, always thirsty for conquest, have also taken the direction of the Middle Kingdom…

Nope – MPC

MPC’s team was led by Production VFX Supervisor Guillaume Rocheron, MPC VFX Supervisor Jeremy Robert, MPC Executive Producer Frederick Lissau; with the visualization led by Art Director, Leandre Lagrange and Head of Visualization, Patrick Smith.

Thirteen Lives – MPC

From Amazon Studios and Director Ron Howard comes the biographical survival film, Thirteen Lives, a story of a coach and 12 boys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand. MPC provided cinematic visual effects for the film, including the underwater and cave environments.

Prey – MPC

MPC provided almost every VFX scene in Prey. This included digital augmentation to the Predator itself, as well as heightened gore, CG arrows, and various environmental enhancements. The team was also tasked with creating a small zoo’s worth of CG North American wildlife, including a grizzly bear, mountain lion, cougars, and a wolf, to name but a few.

The Boys – Season 3 – MPC

The Boys are back and as diabolical as ever. As our first stint with the genius team over at Amazon we were stoked to work on some key scenes.

From arguably the most emotional scene in the series (RIP Timothy) to some extreme NSFW shots we couldn’t even include in our breakdown reel, this was a different project for many reasons!

Led by MPC VFX Supervisor, Charlie Bayliss and VFX Producer, Taylor Kennard, our teams worked closely with Production VFX Supervisor Stephan Fleet to achieve new levels of VFX to shock audiences far and wide. To see our other work on the show, you’ll have to watch it.

Resident Evil – MPC

MPC delivered spine-tingling visual effects to the 8-episode dramatic sci-fi series Resident Evil. Closely collaborating with Netflix and director Andrew Dabb, MPC’s team of VFX artists built around 210 shots ranging from simple muzzle flashes to complex digital environments and CG vehicles.

The Last Duel – MPC

Visionary filmmaker and four-time Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott brings to audiences the tale of gripping betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France in, The Last Duel.

Technicolor Creative Studios Production Supervisors Gary Brozenich and Jessica Norman worked alongside MPC Film VFX Supervisor Sebastien Raets, VFX Producer Skye Radies and teams in London, Montreal, and Bangalore delivering over 180 shots, and with VFX Supervisor Yann Blondel, VFX Producer Kristina Prilukova and the Paris based team, delivering an additional 220 shots.

MPC Film’s artists crafted the visual effects of two sequences: the duel and the Limoges battle. The original brief did not require extensive crowd building, but as the pandemic determined new ways of working, it was essential for the team to adapt the visual effects requirements, and crowd simulation artists were required to simulate both full CG crowds and crowd extensions.

Episodic Showreel 2022 – MPC

The One And Only Ivan – MPC

500 artists across MPC Film’s studios in London, Montreal and Bangalore worked together to bring to life The One and Only Ivan’s 9 primary characters Ivan the Gorilla, Bob the dog, Ruby the baby elephant, Stella the elephant, Frankie the seal, Murphy the rabbit, Snickers the poodle, Henrietta the chicken and Thelma the parrot, and the film’s photo-realistic full CG environments and digital set extensions.

Vikings – Valhalla – MPC

MPC returns to the world of Vikings – delivering epic VFX for the new original series Vikings.

A 600+ strong global team led by VFX Supervisor Ben Mossman and VFX producer Vishal Rustgi delivered over 800 shots, working on a host of environments, water simulations, and bloody battle scenes for Netflix’s new acclaimed drama.

Lost Illusions – MPC

“Lost Illusions” directed by Xavier Giannoli is an adaptation of the novel by Honoré de Balzac. Our Parisian teams produced 175 VFX shots with, among other things, the creation of set extensions so that the streets corresponded to the era of the film.

Annette – MPC

A stand-up comedian and his opera singer wife have a 2-year-old daughter with a surprising gift… Leos Carax’s Annette opened this year’s Cannes Film Festival! A 5 star cast and visual effects & post production made by our MPC Liège teams in collaboration with CG cinéma, SCOPE Production and Wrong Men!
